Deion Sanders has a tough message for top recruits who are fighting for playing time.

Head coach Deion Sanders shocked the nation by flipping Cormani McClain to pledge to Colorado.

The third-best recruit in program history, according to 24/7 Sports, has barely played four games into his freshman season.

Sanders stated last week that the 6-foot-2 Lakeland, Florida corner wasn't playing because of the player.

Sanders doubled down Tuesday after Colorado's stunning setback to Oregon dropped the squad to 3-1.

“Research and prepare. Attend such meetings on time. Understand the scheme," Coach Prime explained McClain's inactivity.

“Understand our scheme, want to play this game, and desire to be the best at practice, in the film room, and on your own time.

I monitor film time from each player, not only Cormani, to determine who's practicing. If I don't see that, you're a fool to put someone unprepared out there.

Sanders told a reporter, “Well the score, I would’ve put you out there at one point,” referencing McClain's brief Ducks visit.
