The Angels drafted TCU third baseman Cole Fontenelle in 2023. 

Fontenelle picked by Angels in 7th RoundCole Fontenelle, the first Frog selected on Day Two of the MLB Draft,

will join the Angels on the west coast. Fontenelle left a legacy despite his one-season stint with the Horned Frogs.

Fontenelle played one season at McLennan Community College in Waco before joining TCU. Fontenelle led the Horned Frogs with a.352 batting average in one season.  

The first baseman hit 14 home runs and drove in 58 runs. He led the club in hitting, doubles (21), triples (2), slugging (.639), and on-base percentage (.473). 

.Fontenelle was one of the Horned Frogs' most reliable all-around hitters during their 2023 surge 

Fontenelle helped TCU through its rocky patches by sparking the middle of the batting order. 

Fontenelle hit.488 with three home runs and 16 RBIs in the postseason. NCAA Fayetteville All-Regional and 2nd-Team All-Big 12 honors went to the switch-hitter. 

Fontenelle impressed major league scouts nationwide as a key player in the Frogs' College World Series run.
